“How Mr Balloon got his stripes.” (Story adapted and ruined by Cik Halie)

*To everybody who understand what i'm merepeking about. O ya, n Pok Din if u're reading this, this is my birthday present for u. Enjoy!

It has always been said that giants and giantesses think very highly of themselves. Since they are big and strong, they are certain that they are the most important of all the beings.

One day, Cik E the giantess (bukan nama sebenar) went along turning over big trees with her giant hands to look for food to eat. She felt very sure of herself. "There is nothing I cannot do," said Cik E.

"Oh, really?" said a small voice. Cik E looked down. There was Mr Balloon the dwarf (juga bkn nama sebenar) looking up at Cik E from the ground.

"Yes," Cik E said, "that is true indeed." She reached out one huge hand and rolled over a big log. "Look at how easily I can do this. I am the strongest of all the living things. I can do anything. All the other living soul fear me."

"Can you stop the balloons, eh silap the sun from rising in the morning?" said the Mr Balloon.

Cik E thought for a moment. "I have never tried that," she said. "Yes, I am sure I could stop the balloons I mean the sun from rising."

"You are sure?" said Mr Balloon.

"I am sure," said Cik E. "Tomorrow morning the sun/balloon will not rise. I, Cik E, have said so." cik E sat down facing the east to wait.

Behind her the sun set for the night and still she sat there. Mr Balloon went into his little home and curled up in his snug little bed, chuckling about how foolish Cik E was. All through the night Cik E sat. Finally, the first birds started their songs and the East glowed with the light that comes before the sun.

"The sun/balloons will not rise today," said Cik E. She stared hard at the glowing light. "The sun will not rise today."

However, the sun rose, just as it always had. Cik E was very upset, but Mr Balloon was delighted. He laughed and laughed. "Sun/balloons is stronger than Cik E," said the little man, twittering with laughter. Mr Balloon was so amused that he came out of his home and began running around in circles, singing this song:

"The balloons came up, eh silap again, the sun came up. Cik E is angry, But the sun came up."

While Cik E sat there looking very unhappy, Mr Balloon ran around and around, singing and laughing until he was so weak that he rolled over on his back. Then, quicker than the leap of a fish from a stream, Cik E shot out a paw and pinned him to the ground.

"Perhaps I cannot stop the sun from rising," said Cik E, "but you will never see another sunrise."

"Oh, mighty giantess," said the little man. "You are the strongest, the quickest, the best of all of the makhluk. I was only joking." But Cik E did not move her paw.

"Oh, Cik E," Mr Balloon said, "you are right to kill me, I deserve to die. Just please let me say one last prayer to Creator before you eat me."

"Say your prayer quickly," said Cik E. "Your time to walk the Sky Road has come!"

"Oh, Cik E," said the dwarf, "I would like to die. But you are pressing down on me so hard I cannot breathe. I can hardly squeak. I do not have enough breath to say a prayer. If you would just lift your paw a little, just a little bit, then I could breathe. And I could say my last prayer to the Maker of all, to the one who made great, wise, powerful giantess and the foolish, weak, little dwarf."

Cik E lifted up her paw. She lifted it just a little bit. That little bit, though, was enough. Mr Balloon squirmed free and ran for his home as quickly as the blinking of an eye. Cik E swung her gigantic hand at the little man as he darted away. She was not quick enough to catch him, but the very tips of her long claws scraped along Mr Ballon's back leaving a couple of scars.

To this day, all Mr Balloon’s ancestors wear those scars as a reminder to them of what happens when one stupid dwarf mess with an equally stupid giantess. And that boys and girls, is how Mr Balloon got his stripes.

Note: Cerita ini hanyalah rekaan semata-mata. Tidak ada kena-mengena dgn gergasi/belon yg hidup mahupun yg telah meninggal dunia.

I've learned..

I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned.... That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" ...makes my day.

I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned.... That the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?

I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned ... That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.

I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned.... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned.... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

I've learned.... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've Learned... If you will take the time to read these, I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective.

Have a great day peeps!! >.<

Its all about..

Its all about.. marriage? What is marriage? Marriage has traditionally been understood as the union of one man and one woman. Marriage is uniquely beneficial to society because it is the foundation of the family and the basic building block of society.

# It brings significant stability and meaning to human relationships
# It remains the ideal for the raising of children.
# It plays an important role in transferring culture and civilization into future generations.
# Marriage is not merely a private contract, but a social institution of great public concern.

"Marriage is the civil status of one man and one woman united in law for life, for the discharge to each other and the community of the duties legally incumbent on those who association is founded on the distinction of sex." - Black's Law Dictionary, dating back to 1891

In Islam marriage is viewed as a sacred contract. It is the stern command of Islam that the sexual instinct, natural to man should attain consummation only through wedlock. Matrimony is a holy act. Celibacy has been strongly prohibited. The dos and don’ts that the two mates ought to adopt in matrimonial life have been prescribed by Islam. Obeying these stipulations, man and woman can ensure a successful and blissful married life and a peaceful life after death.

# The resources of this world are for you to enjoy. The best wealth you can have in this world is a good wife.
# The best wealth that a man can have in this world is a good wife. A good wife is one who is a joy to look at, one who obeys her husband’s commands and one who protects the wealth during his absence.
# The best of men are those who treat their wives well.
- Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)

"And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): Verily in that on Signs for those who reflect.." Holy Qur’an 30:21

Hikmah-hikmah perkahwinan

so dear MAD, what i'm trying to say here is, if u think that its already time for u to bid farewell to ur singleton years n embracing husband/fatherhood instead, i will support u all the way. i will not show anythin but my support n encouragement for u. u will never see anythin but smile n happiness on my face when u talk bout this with me. God knows what i feel inside but u wont know anythin bout it. i wont tell u what i feel, i wont object to anythin. coz this time its not about me. its all about u.

"She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky cause.."

n its 'teardrops on my guitar' all over again..

He looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see..

Instructions for Life

*Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

*Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have, or
loaf all you want.

*When you say, "I love you," mean it.

*When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.

*Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

*Believe in love at first sight.

*Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have
dreams don't have much.

*Love deeply and passionately. You may get hurt, but it's
the only way to live life completely.

*In disagreements, fight fairly. No name-calling.

*Don't judge people by their relatives, or by the life
they were born into.

*Teach yourself to speak slowly but think quickly.

*When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer,
smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

*Take into account that great love and great achievements
involve great risk.

*Call a relative.

*When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

*Follow the three R's: Respect for self, Respect for others,
and Responsibility for all your actions.

*Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

*When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps
to correct it.

*Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in
your voice.

*Marry a person you love to talk to. As you get older, his/her
conversational skills will be even more important.

*Spend some time alone.

*Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.

*Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

*Read more books. Television is no substitute.

*Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and
think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.

*Trust in God but lock your car.

*A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for
your life. Do all you can to create a tranquil, harmonious
home.

*In disagreements with loved ones deal only with the current
situation. Don't bring up the past.

*Don't just listen to what someone is saying. Listen to why
they are saying it.

*Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.

*Be gentle with the earth.

*Pray. There's immeasurable power in it.

*Never interrupt when you are being flattered.

*Mind your own business.

*Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.

*If you make a lot of money, put it to use helping others
while you are living. It is wealth's greatest satisfaction.

*Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful
stroke of luck.

*Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.

*Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love
for each other exceeds your need for each other.

*Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

*Live with the knowledge that your character is your destiny.

*Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

*Kiss your children and your mate at least once a day.

*Do something nice for someone you've never met before.

*And, show yourself the same kindness you show to everyone else.

a) bad hair/tudung days, b) fighting a lost battle, c) fairytales anyone? ok now pick ur own tittle for this post.

sometime life feels like a neverending bad hair days. or in my case bad tudung days. remember one of those days when ur hair/tudung refuse to behave themselves no matter how u coax n persuade it or even bribe it to present themselves nicely on top of ur head? n after much wasted effort u still end up looking like a deranged, bewildered lady (that is if we can still be called a lady after all that). well, thats how it is. peeps who free-haired get bad hair days. peeps who cover theirs get bad tudung days. life is pretty fair. (btw do men get bad hair days too i wonder.. hmmm)

neway what i'm trying to rant is this. i've been having bad tudung days, both literally n not literally speaking, for quite sometime now. life seems to go downhill for certain aspects of my life nowadays. trial after trial. heartache after another. i've even lost that small2 happiness that life had granted me a few months back too. that small2 happiness that keep me functioning even tho i feel like colapsing on heaps. that dragged n boosted me up on those very down days of mine. that 'daily dose of joy' remember? the one which has been the subject of my babbling a few post back? well no more daily dose of joy for me it seems. even tho that 'somebody' given up hiding already but it makes absolutely no different to me if to be compared to the time when hiding is a favourite past-time of him.

well if life throws us lemon, we make lemonade people say. but i'm feeling more like throwing those lemons back at life rather than juicing it u know what i mean? i tried motivating myself. tried foreseeing those bitterness n realizing the goodness they bring instead. feels nothing. tried the "After every storm there is sunshine, For every ending there lies a new beginning, For every question there is an answer, For every heartache there is joy, For every sickness there is healing, bla bla" that kinda things. but sigh.. still not working. this stubborn heart refused to even try to consider them yet alone to have faith in it.

sometime it feels like i'm fighting a lost battle. the stupid me keep on fighting even tho victory is out of my reach. y? coz i was raised on fairytale that is. i was raised to believe that everybody is entitled to have a happy ending. but that is so not how it works on this reality world we live in. not everybody will get a chance at happy ending. not everybody will get to be swept off their glass-clad slippers by a knight in shining armour riding a handsome stallion n rode off into the sunset. we're not living in fairytale where all the princesses play damsel in distress n just patiently sit n wait in some isolated castle towers (u can add in a guard dragon in there to spice things up) for their prince charming to come rescue them. in reality we, the princesses have to save our own pretty behind ourself. knight in shining armour who??

but in the end i'm no quiter (btol ke that spelling? correct me if i'm wrong. i'm in a blur while i'm penning this. hehe). my parent raised me to be more than that. even tho how deep a hole i'm stuck in, even tho how steep the mountain i fell from, one thing is absolutely certain to me. u cannot win unless u play and u cannot fail unless and until u quit. fall down if u must, rest for awhile if u wish, but get right back up, brush off the dust of ur pretty behind, re-chart ur course and find the inner strength to go one more round. life, throw all the lemons u have at me but i will not run n hide. i may not make lemonade but i will find a better use for those lemons oh u bet i will. i will free myself from those towers, n throw away my glass slippers (u wont get very far if u're escaping in glass slippers) n ride the handsome stallion into the sunset by myself (after stealing the horsie from prince charming n abandoning him on a hot desert muahaha!). if thats what it takes for me to be happy so be it. after all who need a guy who waits a hundred years to save u kan.

ok thats it. deranged ranting accomplished. peeps, do not attempt to even try to understand all i'm raving. coz i dont myself. :)

bleerrggghhhhh.........

and me live happily ever after..

Rules for Being Human

1. you will receive a body. you may like it or hate it, but it will
be yours for the entire period this time around.

2. you will learn lessons. you are enrolled in a full-time informal
school called 'life.' each day in this school you will have
the opportunity to learn lessons. you may like the lessons or
think them irrelevant and stupid.

3. there are no mistakes, only lessons. growth is a process of
trial, error, and experimentation. the "failed" experiments
are as much a part of the process as the experiment that
ultimately "works".

4. a lesson is repeated until learned. a lesson will be presented
to you in various forms until you have learned it.
when you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

5. learning lessons does not end. there is no part of life that
does not contain its lessons. if you are alive, there are
lessons to be learned.

6. "there" is no better than "here". when your "there" has
become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there"
that will, again, look better than "here".

7. Others are merely mirrors of you. you cannot love or hate
something about another person unless it reflects to you
something you love or hate about yourself.

8. what you make of your life is up to you.
you have all the tools and resources you need.
what you do with them is up to you.
the choice is yours.

9. your answers lie inside you.
the answers to life's questions lie inside you.
all you need to do is look, listen, and trust.

10. you will forget all of this..

A Simple Friend and A Real Friend

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps herself.

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in her address book.

A simple friend brings buah tangan to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after she has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

A simple friend reads this post and forget about it.
A real friend passes this on and dedicate this back to you!

Ayat-ayat Cinta

desir pasir di padang tandus
segersang pemikiran hati
terkisah ku di antara cinta yang rumit

bila keyakinanku datang
kasih bukan sekadar cinta
pengorbanan cinta yang agung
ku pertaruhkan

maafkan bila ku tak sempurna
cinta ini tak mungkin ku cegah
ayat-ayat cinta bercerita
cintaku padamu
bila bahagia mulai menyentuh
seakan ku bisa hidup lebih lama
namun harus ku tinggalkan cinta
ketika ku bersujud

bila keyakinanku datang
kasih bukan sekedar cinta
pengorbanan cinta yang agung
ku pertaruhkan

ketika ku bersujud
