You’re a mess.. But you’re my mess..

Have you ever noticed what makes some people laugh makes others cry? Some are weak and some are strong. Some are shallow and some are deep. The funny thing is we’re all some people. We’ve all had times when we’ve been weak and times when we’ve been strong. We’ve all had times when we laughed at something we shouldn’t have and cried when we wonder where that came from. Or times when we think, "Darn that was shallow of me" or "I never knew I could go that deep".

I’ve been thinking about people's traits lately. I’m talking about the things that make someone a mess. Not a bad mess but a good mess. You know those little things that make someone who they really are. I know if you’ll think about whom you’re with or if you’re single you’ll think about someone that meant something to you. Think about your mom or dad, or your friends. You’ll think about those little things that make them a mess. Maybe they sing in the shower and can’t hit a key. They’re a morning person and you aren’t. They don’t cut you any slack and you find that attractive. They eat a popcorn ball one cornel at a time. Maybe it’s the way they laugh or how they cry at a commercial. Maybe if they’re a man they stare at a spot on the wall to keep from crying.

I’m talking about the little things that make you smile when you think about them or even maybe make you shake your head and giggle a bit. See I’m talking about the things that make them an original. Things that are a part of them are a part of their nature. Whether it’s your mom or dad, your brother or sister, your friend, or your somebody. It’s those little things that you may make fun of them to their face about but secretly adore. It’s the things you would miss if they weren’t a part of them. I think about my dad. When he was working on something he always had his tongue hanging out. I teased him about it but it was a part of him that I’ll never forget.

To me those are the things that you remember the most about someone. The things you love about them. The things you would never want to change about them. The things that make them a mess. So when you see them doing those little things, you can think to yourself, "You’re a mess. But you’re my mess."
